FAQ

Questions, answered.

Does it replace the Omarchy menu?

No. It leaves the menu on Super + Space alone and sits beside it on Super + Period. It is an alternative to the separate emoji picker, calculator and agent picker, each of which has its own key.

Does anything leave my machine?

Currency conversions fetch exchange rates when needed, using a daily cache. Web searches open in your browser. AI prompts go to the agent or chat website you select. File search reads names, not file contents; the bar stores its cache locally.

What does the ai command do?

It opens your default Omarchy agent in a terminal with your prompt. The agent uses auto-approve and can run commands without asking. If no default is set, it opens the agent picker. Separate results can open the prompt in configured chat websites such as ChatGPT and Claude.

Can I change the hotkey?

Yes. Set hotkey in your commandbar.json and save. The default is Super + Period.

Can I add my own commands?

Yes. Add entries to the commands list in your config, each with a keyword, a title and either a web address to open or a command to run.

How do I remove it?

Terminal

omarchy plugin remove io.github.saikomantisu.commandbar
rm -rf ~/.cache/omarchy-commandbar ~/.config/omarchy/extensions/commandbar.json
